Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our web site and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
When you enter your payment card details the payment is `pre-authorised`. This means that the card details are checked with your card issuer and the money is reserved with your bank. We do not actually take the payment until the goods are sent.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and Visa Debit. we do not accept Visa Electron. We do not charge you for any item until it is ready to ship.
Providing your comics are in stock we aim to process your order within 3 working days.
When you choose comics from the Advance Order section the ship date listed on each comic is subject to publisher change.
If you have chosen to have your order shipped as items become available shipping will be charged for each part of the order based on the shipping rates detailed below. The £5.00 minimum order value still applies to each 'part' of your order, we do not process and ship until there is £5.00 worth of comics on hand.
Expected shipping dates featured on the web site are accurate at time of press, however, customers should monitor the web site for the shipping dates as they are sometimes liable to change.
Please note our minimum order value is £5.00 (this excludes shipping charges). Any orders placed that do not meet this minimum order value will be cancelled, this £5.00 minimum does not apply to subscription additions.
The advance order prices featured on the web site apply to on-line orders only, these discounts are not available in any of our stores.
We do not charge credit or debit cards you until the goods are dispatched (although the money will be reserved with your bank).
Prices of comics or graphic novels quoted at the time of ordering are correct at the time of press, should a comic or graphic novel price change on publication you will always be charged at the price on the published comic/graphic novel (the advance order discount is still valid where applicable).
Comic information is uploaded to the web site when the solicitation information is received from the publisher.
Comic Subscriptions:
If you have chosen to set-up a regular Comics Subscripition i.e. we automatically reserve every issue of your selected titles. You will be contacted by email when we process your subscription with details of your subscription number and the expected first shipping date, subscription customers comics are shipped on a monthly basis but a weekly or two weekly shipping schedule can be arranged. We ask that you order a minimum of 3 ongoing monthly titles to set-up a comics subscription (3 different titles, not 3 issues of the same title), and once your subscription is active that you maintain the minimum of 3 ongoing monthly titles.
If you haven't received an email with details of your subscription request within 3 days of placing your order please email us, it may be that you need to check your spam/junk folder and settings.
When you add titles to your exisiting comics subscription you will be sent an automated email with the details of your extras. We do ask that where possible you make your additions via the web page.
You can cancel a title in your subscription at any time, but we do ask that customers take the issues that have already been put into their files. All cancellations must be sent by email and include your subscription number and the title and issue numbers you wish to cancel, we will confirm all cancellations by return email.
Any other changes to your subscription, for example delivery address or email address changes should be emailed to us directly.
Prices of comics or graphic novels quoted at the time of an addition to your subscription are correct at the time of press, should a comic or graphic novel price change on publication you will always be charged at the price on the published comic/graphic novel (the advance order discount is still valid where applicable).

Shipping And Handling

Shipping Charges for comics within the UK are as follows:
£0.01 - £11.99 = £1.80 p&p first class
£12.00 - £19.99 = £3.20 p&p recorded delivery first class
£20.00 - £24.99 = £3.50 p&p recorded delivery first class
£25.00 - £34.99 = £4.10 p&p recorded delivery first class
£35.00 - £44.99 = £5.20 p&p recorded delivery first class
£45.00 + =£6.00 UK Mail courier (please note that orders with lots of comic supplies may have postage raised to £12.00 if more parcels need to be shipped.)
Shipping Charges for comics to Southern Ireland and Europe can vary due to the weight of comics, once you've placed an order an email will be sent with the correct postage costs once we've weighed your order.
nb. Comic Supplies (Boxes, Bags & Boards): Please select the shipping option of 'Comic Supplies Courier' at the checkout to receive the correct shipping cost for your order. If this option is not selected we will email to inform you and charge the correct shipping costs.
Large orders of comic supplies may be subject to extra shipping costs due to the extra weight and quantity of boxes needed to send, you will be advised of these shipping charges before your order is processed and sent. I'm afraid we are only able to ship comic supplies to the Mainland UK.
nb. Any orders containing Previews Magazine, Essential/Showcase tpb's and Hardcovers will be shipped with our courier at a shipping charge of £6.00 (within the UK). Customers outside the UK will be contacted by our sales team who will advise if a higher shipping cost is necessary.
We ship your comics in a specially designed folding cardboard box.
Please note we cannot accept comic orders from outside the UK, Eire and Europe. |
Delivery Schedule
We hope to have your order processed within 3 working days provided all items ordered are in stock. Orders will be sent by first class recorded delivery and will require a signature on reciept.
The majority of orders exceeding £25.00 in total will be sent via courier (within the UK).
Orders sent by courier will only be delivered between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Please make sure you provide a delivery address where someone will be present at these times to sign for the parcel.
Once shipped you should expect to receive your order within 3 working days.
The courier will only attempt delivery twice, if they are unable to deliver, the parcel will be held at the depot for 5 working days where you can collect at any time within that period. If you request another delivery attempt the original shipping cost of £6.00 will be charged to you again.
We will contact you in the event of any parcel being returned to us and the original delivery charge will be applied again to resend the parcel.

Back Orders
If you order from the current comics and the comic in question has sold out, we will do our best to locate the comic and fulfill your order. You will be given the chance to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. |
Tax Charges
All orders made from the UK have the VAT included where applicable. |

Returns Policy
Exchanges/Returns. If there is a problem with any of the items that you have received please contact us immediately, time is of the essence as we only have a very narrow window in which to effect returns or make claims. Under the Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations 2000 you have the right to cancel within seven working days of the goods being delivered. Notify us by email at returns@forbidden-planet.co.uk to give us details. We can then give you an authorisation number. Where applicable, we shall arrange an immediate courier pickup of the parcel. Otherwise we'll request that you return the item(s) by first class recorded delivery (postage incurred will be credited back to you).
